 SEO for Small Businesses: How to Compete with Big Brands Online

Hi everyone, and welcome back to my weekly blog. This week I will outline how small businesses use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to compete with bigger and more established brands online.

Here's a quick link to help you guys understand SEO... What is SEO?

Small businesses can compete directly with larger firms using a good SEO. What constitutes as a good SEO you may ask💭. This can be measured by your SEO score... A good score is anywhere between 80-100 a score in this range would mean that your small businesses is reaching high amounts of people and your website is user friendly etc.

In recent times, SME's have been using SEO to their adavantage for example;

1. Niche Focus and Targeted Strategies

  • SMEs are more niche-focused than large firms. This allows them to create highly targeted SEO strategies and aim it at a specific audience, which can be more effective than broad, one-size-fits-all approaches that large companies may use.

2. Agility and Flexibility

  • SMEs can implement SEO changes much quicker than big corps. Larger companies have multiple layers of decision-making, which can slow down their ability to adapt to SEO best practices or respond to algorithm changes.
